If you read what was contained within the previous article and followed the URL link that I provided and then went on to read what was contained in the Wiki on-line encyclopedia;
1: I sincerely hope that you didn't come away thinking that I was trying to make an anti religious statement.
2: I hope you didn't think I was attempting to cloud your minds with more anti enemy type propaganda.
If you did then I think I have made a point that will be covered within another article much later.
What I was attempting to share is that people even those with the best intent are prone to what can be called a self destructive complex.
We see it happening every day on TV. Read about it in our news papers and within the tabloids.
I can't understand the process that is going on today. Actors, singers, politicians, athletes, doctors, business people even individuals work hard for their money and the fame and status they have achieved. Then at some point in their lives something happens within their minds that works to reverse everything that they have worked toward and then the downward spiral begins within their lives. Its as if something that is very dark and ominous lurks within them to destroy the fame and the "beautiful" lives that they had dreamed about and accomplished.
On an individual level we see it happening to our working class people. They move along smoothly, get good jobs and climb the ladder of success and then they get credit cards. They begin buying things on credit. Eventually they max out on those cards and then the trouble begins for them.
This self destructive complex seems to be happening on a national level people. Look at what we have done to our environment. Look at what we have done to our economy. There isn't any more industry within this country. We don't produce anything that is really worthwhile that can be put on the common market. Our automobile industry is flagging because there has been no innovation in that place. The cars that are produced in those places still guzzle gas and put out "pollution that is passable". Why aren't they working on a machine that can get 50 to sixty miles per gallon? It can be done because we have the technology within our grasp.
(I won't get into how we are destroying our environment because I have nagged about that subject so many times before in previous articles. If you are really interested in reading what I have said, search those articles.)
So, in essence, it almost looks like the self destructive complex is a mindset. An energy emanation that each and every one of us goes on feeding and energizing it with our negative thought patterns. We have given this dark thing a life of its own and it has spread throughout our country on a national level. It has become a disease because so many people have been affected by it.
To comprehend what I am saying just look at our stock market. I was watching TV news cast the other night and they flashed the effect of the current market down trend on the screen. "Lack of industrial production and an inability to sell what is being produced" was the reason for the current fall in stock purchases. You can point at the real estate crisis as being the source of this trend but you can also point at the people who profited from the real estate market boom before the crash and they are still making a killing during the real estate crash.
Its sad people. There are families living in Central Florida's jungles struggling to survive on a day to day basis. Those people once had jobs and they once owned their own homes. I can tell you this for sure, while the times were good for them I bet they tied up whatever little liquid assets they had in credit card debt. When the real estate crunch came they didn't have any assets to weather the bad times through. Someone sets the percentage rates in this country to be very high when times are good. I really can't understand it when people buy houses, cars etc when those rates are too high. When a financial crunch finally comes their assets are tied up in high percentage rates. The next time this happens I suggest that everyone begin to refuse to buy anything while the rates are so high. You know what will happen? The rates will come down very fast. I can guarantee it.
I want to share with you a little story about how I can tell when a cycle of down trends in going to happen. In 1985 America felt the sting of a real estate downtrend. That was 20 to 21 years ago. Back then I bought my first home for 500.00 down and 500.00 to close. The real estate market at that time was terrible look at it as it is today. People were getting homeless because of it. People's homes were taken away from them by the financial institutions who had lent them the money to but their homes. What is very sad is that the percentage rates were at an all time high. If I recall some went up to 21 percent. When the real estate market crashed.....You are seeing what happened again today. I know a lot of people who were working in the real estate business well before this current crash happened. I advised a lot of them to begin looking for new jobs. Some of them thought I was going nuts. "I can't quit my job! Your crazy! There's a real estate boom going on! Houses are being built all over the place. Condominiums too!
How did I know that we were going to begin experiencing what we all are going through now? Cycles. Every twenty years a boom market begins to lose its strength. People who have been succeeding begin to experience the onset of their self defeating complex. We call it burnout. Every country experiences it. There are good times that last for twenty years. Then the downward spiral begins.
I know my cycles so well that I even paint works of art around it. I created two paintings which are within my photo section here on Blogster. Two versions of Vermeer's Girl With A Pearl Earring. A lot of planning happened around the event that won me best of show at the Orlando Museum of Art's museum shops art competition. It just so happened that the museum shop held a competition that fell on the 50Th anniversary of Salvador Dali's recreation of one of Vermeer's paintings. The competition was titled, My Favorite Master. The rules were simple. All an artist had to do was recreate a painting that copied with some exactitude, the work of a Master painter. Then the artist was supposed to create another painting that put a "new twist" to what the master had painted. I decided to paint The Girl In Awe. I wasn't surprised when I saw the little plaque that was placed next to the two paintings that announced that I had won. "Museum Shop Artist of The Month Candidate." I had simply followed the trend of a cycle. Part of the reason for failure happens when people continue to act against a cycle. They buy and buy till they almost drop and they continue to buy stock, houses and cars when a market trend is just beginning to wane. In my language that's working a thing against the odds. Working against a cycle is like swimming upstream. You are bound to get exhausted and then you will surely go down for the first time. After the third time, no one will see you again because you got busted.
It behooves us to pay attention to cycles. The ancient Mayans did. For a time their civilization flourished until their kings began to get greedy.
People who claim to be on the spiritual path are the same way. many of them invest a lot of their time sitting in meditation. They spend a lot of time detoxifying their bodies so they can become worthy of what ever they are looking for. And when finally the first test comes. They run from it and fail. Or they continue on with fear in their hearts because they just won't allow themselves to let go of what has to be let go of. They don't want to change. They resist change with all their might. Their spiritual evolution comes to a grinding halt.
The same can be applied to our technocratic society. We have come away so far from nature that we have created a state of becoming unnatural. Instead of working within nature to enhance our lives we have begun to destroy the very place that sustains us. Our water, our land-the dirt we plant things in is so polluted with industrial waste and garbage that its on the verge of turning itself against us as is the water we are drinking. It doesn't make any sense that we have to buy our water does it because the real water is getting so polluted that we can't drink it!
If that isn't a monumental case of mass self destruction that arises from a self destructive complex on a national scale....
I am not a holy man. Don't you begin starting that on me. I am just a person like everyone else who writes their Blogs. I am no different from you and you and you who are reading this.
It all falls with the realm of common sense within a world that runs off of cycles.
